Hydration Technology Innovations (HTI) Water have kindly offered their support for Expedition Mongolia 2010.
HTI Water are the leading provider of next-generation forward osmosis water filtration technology based on a proprietary membrane that converts almost any polluted water into safe, potable drink.
Access to clean and safe drinking water in Mongolia will be a problem.
Currently, an estimated 40% of Mongolia’s 2.6 million people lack access to safe drinking water, contributing to a high incidence of diarrheal disease. As wells dry out and deteriorate, prospects for health and wellbeing slowly evaporate.
Since 1940, the average temperature climbed almost 3.5 degrees Fahrenheit. The change in temperature has resulted in more extreme weather occurrence – more drought and more sand storms. The groundwater table is decreasing in arid regions, and desertification and land degradation are intensifying as a result of water shortages and lack of precipitation.
For this reason, I have decided to rely on a trusted and respected company that can provide water filtration technology that will enable me to create a pure drink from almost any water source, including highly turbid and toxic supply waters and all without pumping, external power, mechanical parts or purifying chemicals.
